BRAVE SPACES

Anti-Racism Discussions & Action

2021 Monthly Series:
Mondays 5:00-6:00pm via Zoom
Next sessions: Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Nov. 8

Discovering our own complicity in historic, systemic racism is deeply troubling. Brave Spaces brings conversation partners together to learn about race theory, to uncover new voices from the past and present, and to live out beliefs more faithfully. We’ll meet monthy in community to learn and to support each other on a life-long journey of being anti-racist. We’re engaging in action to learn increasingly honorable forms of allyship. Being an ally requires those of us who have privilege and power to engage in self-reflection, learning, and action to support and to stand in solidarity with those who are experiencing racism in our community.

In the fall, we'll engage in learning based on Layla Saad's book Me and White Supremacy.  We hope you’ll join us as we move forward into allyship and action.

PARENT WELLNESS CHECK

SUNDAY November 7, 10:00am

During the pandemic we know parents are struggling to balance work, child care and self-care while keeping worries (both your children’s and your own) under control. You don’t have to do it alone. We are offering a Parent Wellness Check for families and invite you to join us for meaningful conversation and telling stories about what you, as a family, have overcome.  We will offer a variety of resources to help guide your family through this incredibly unusual time. Together, we can gather support from our community and encourage one another into a healthier and happier future.
